Grand Teton National Park

Grand Teton National Park

On our vacation to Oregon this summer, we were able to visit the Grand Teton National Park. My first impressions when seeing the mountain range was speechless.

We started in Yellowstone National Park and drove through the John D. Rockefeller, Jr. Memorial Parkway. When you drive it, the amazement starts as soon as you see the Grand Teton come in view. WOW! We were miles away when I took this picture and the mountains were enormous. Notice the snow still visible in August.

The Grand Teton Mountain ended up being one of the best photography opportunities that we had on our side trip. Ed and I were snapping pictures from every angle. There are lakes that surround the range that gave us the opportunity to get some amazing pictures. Check out one of Ed's pictures that he took! It is totally amazing what he can do with a camera.

I recommend that if you get the chance to visit Yellowstone and Grand Tetons that you plan to spend a couple days in the parks. There is so much to see that you can not possibly see it all. I do recommend if you are doing a drive through like we did that you do not exit Yellowstone out the East exit. It was amazing with the buffalo crossing the road but the journey should not be taken at night as we did. It actually took over 4 hours to travel less than 50 miles. It is a very windy road through the canyon that should not be taken at night. I bet the journey is gorgeous during the daylight.
