Sausage Pinwheel Rolls
Sausage Pinwheel Rolls
As long as I can remember, my mother used to make Sausage Pin Rolls when we needed appetizers. These are very easy to prepare and they always went over well with adults and children. I hope you enjoy them as much as we all do.
Ingredients:
1 can crescent rolls (I usually use the store brand.
1 package of ground sausage
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
On a cutting board, unroll crescent rolls making 4 squares. Do not separate into triangle pieces.
With a butter knife spread a thin layer of sausage onto the dough. Roll the dough into a roll like you would roll a jelly roll. Smooth roll until evenly round and extend to approximately 7 inches long. Use a serrated knife to cut the roll into ½ inch pieces. Place pinwheels on an ungreased pan (I usually spray the pan with baking spray but this is not necessary.) Keep the pinwheels far enough apart that they have room to expand.
Bake approximately 10-15 minutes. Rolls will turn golden brown. I normally follow the instructions on the crescent rolls. Makes about 50 rolls. Serve hot and enjoy.
