Walking the Dog

Walking the Dog article! Rex walking on the beach with us in OregonEvery day I see a couple and their two children walk their dog down the road. They are a young couple with a girl about 10 years old and a boy around 8 years old. I never see this family any other time. It is strange. I never see them drive to work or to the store. But I could almost set my watch to this family walking their dog down the road.

As they pass the house, the kids are skipping along with the dog and the parents are keeping up the pace with smiles on their faces. They never disturb the neighborhood or let their dog into others’ yards. They just walk and converse with their children.

When I was a child we always sat at the table and ate dinner. This was our family time. We talked about our day and enjoyed each other or sometimes not but we were together. Today it is different. It seems that families are too busy to take the time to concern themselves with family matters.

It's all in how you look at it!

HunterI have had a very unexpected evening! First I get a call from Levi (17), my oldest son. "Mom can you come get me. I am in Crawford County and my Jeep broke down." I agreed and thought that I can kill two birds with one stone. I had plans to take the twins to New Albany to get their hair cut.

To start it off the twins get off the school bus 20 minutes late because of the rain. We headed out to drive 28 miles in a vehicle without heat in 42 degree weather to get Levi. As we started driving, my car started sputtering. I drive forward thinking it was because of the rain. I have a car that really does not like the rain so I did not think anything of it. We arrived at the destination but I used more gas than I anticipated so I pulled up to the gas pump. Turned off the car. Josie calls Levi because we had not seen him yet.

Mondays.... are they that bad?

TeenagersI have found that I tend to reflex the moods of others’. It is almost like osmosis. This is why I hate Mondays! “Everyone” says they hate Mondays. Why does everyone hate Mondays? This post will hopefully answer that exact question!

The scenario starts: When I go to any business on Mondays, the employees are always in a nasty mood. I understand having I bad day but to be downright nasty is not the best business practice. If you want to sell something to me, does it really matter what day of the week it is? All that I ask is that you PLEASE try to attempt to care! I have money and I have come in your employer’s business. Am I the customer that has ruined your day? Is it so difficult to earn the money you are being paid to wait on me? Do you not understand that customers really do pay your salary? What is it exactly can the customer do for you to help you be in a better mood?
